Today was more exciting than yesterday.
Before I went to bed, I headed downstairs for breakfast. I ended up meeting another American who was here for the same reason I am. His name is Michael (no, he’s not near my age so don’t ask). We talked for a long time. He’d been here before and was telling me some of the experiences he had. Poor guy will be living in a hotel until the end of August!
After getting a good day’s sleep, I headed to the office for more training. My system kept kicking me out, so I didn’t feel like I got a lot done. The trainees are doing really good, though. For dinner, instead of eating in the cafeteria, a few of the people I am working with (Shalini, Pragya, Alok, and Samil) brought me out. We went to a mall named Ambience Mall. It’s the 2nd largest in the country. Since the stores were closed, we only looked around, then went to a restaurant that served Indian food. I trusted them to help me choose food I would like.
I tried mutton (it’s okay. tasted kinda flowery), mushrooms with some spices (really hot but good), some chicken dish that was really good, another chicken thing with orange sauce that was really good, and garlic bread!!
Can’t say I’m not adventurous!
Tonight we work, but Shalini and Pragya are going to try to meet up with me before hand to go shopping. I’m missing home right now, but I’m trying not to dwell on it. My mom told me my youngest cat keeps walking to the door and staring at it or putting his head against it.
Breaks my heart!!!! I’m looking forward to the day or so I get to spend with my family before heading to South Africa. I think Africa will be easier since I’ll be with my church family.
Gotta finish working and head to bed. Pics are posted on Facebook. Sorry for the quality of some. I had it on the wrong setting! :0
